Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Case Manager
Verify your degree meets TN requirements
The TN Social Worker category requires a bachelor's degree in social work or a directly related field. A general psychology or sociology degree may not satisfy CBP officers, so confirm your credential aligns before approaching employers.
Target healthcare systems and nonprofits first
Hospital networks, community health centers, and nonprofit human services organizations hire Case Managers at scale and typically have HR teams familiar with TN sponsorship, reducing the educational burden you'd face with smaller employers.
Request a support letter that names your degree field
Your employer's TN support letter must connect your specific degree to the Case Manager duties. Generic offer letters get flagged at the border. Ask HR to explicitly state how your academic background qualifies you for the role.
Search for TN-ready employers using Migrate Mate
Filter Case Manager openings by TN visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate so you're applying only to employers who have already committed to the process, cutting time spent educating reluctant hiring managers.
Clarify Canadian versus Mexican processing paths early
Canadian citizens can present TN documents directly at a port of entry, while Mexican nationals must schedule a consular visa appointment. Confirm which process applies to you before you sign an offer, since timelines differ significantly.
Align your job duties to the USMCA occupation definition
CBP reviews whether your actual day-to-day Case Manager duties match the USMCA Social Worker classification. If your role includes supervisory or administrative tasks that dominate over direct case work, a CBP officer may question eligibility.

Find Case Manager JobsCase Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Case Manager role qualify for a TN visa?
Case Manager positions can qualify under the TN Social Worker category if the role requires and you hold a bachelor's degree or higher in social work or a closely related field. CBP evaluates whether your specific duties match the USMCA occupation definition, so job title alone is not enough. Roles focused primarily on administrative coordination rather than direct client services can face additional scrutiny.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Case Managers compare to H-1B?
TN sponsorship is faster and more predictable for Case Managers than H-1B. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and Canadian nationals can activate status at the border on the day of hire. H-1B requires filing months in advance with USCIS and surviving a randomized selection process, making TN the practical first choice for qualifying Canadian and Mexican professionals in this field.
Where can I find Case Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. jobs with TN visa sponsorship. You can filter Case Manager openings by visa type, which removes the guesswork of contacting employers who aren't familiar with or willing to support the TN process.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
Your employer prepares a support letter that states your job title, duties, required degree, your specific credentials, and the intended duration of employment. Canadian nationals present this letter alongside degree transcripts and the offer letter directly at a port of entry. Mexican nationals submit these documents as part of a consular visa application. Neither route requires USCIS to approve a petition in advance.
Can I switch Case Manager employers while on a TN visa?
You can change employers on a TN visa, but you cannot begin working for the new employer before the new TN status is approved. Canadian citizens can apply for a new TN at a port of entry for the incoming employer. Mexican nationals need a new consular appointment. Starting work before the new status is granted puts you out of status, so timing the transition carefully with both employers matters.
