TN Visa Program Coordinator Jobs
Program Coordinator roles qualify for TN visa sponsorship under the USMCA's Social Worker category or, more commonly, as a Scientific Technician supporting program operations. Canadian citizens can secure TN status at the port of entry without a cap. Mexican citizens require a consular appointment with a 65-per-year numerical limit.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Program Coordinator
Match your degree to the correct TN category
Program Coordinator isn't a standalone TN category. Your degree field determines which USMCA classification fits your duties, so a social work degree, a public health credential, or a relevant sciences background each opens a different qualifying pathway.
Document how your role supports a specialty function
CBP officers scrutinize generalist coordinator titles. Your offer letter must tie your specific duties, scheduling, grant tracking, or clinical coordination, to the specialized professional category on your support letter, not just list administrative tasks.
Target nonprofits and healthcare systems with TN history
Community health organizations, universities, and hospital networks regularly hire Program Coordinators under TN status. These employers already understand the support letter requirements and won't need you to educate HR from scratch.
Request a detailed support letter before accepting an offer
Ask your prospective employer for a draft support letter before you sign. It must state your TN category, your specific duties, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and the employment period. Vague letters are the leading cause of CBP delays.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers actively filing TN sponsorships
Search Migrate Mate's verified job board to identify Program Coordinator openings at employers who already sponsor TN visas. This cuts the time you'd otherwise spend cold-qualifying employers who have never navigated USMCA professional categories.
Prepare for Mexican consulate processing timelines early
Mexican citizens can't use the port-of-entry method and must book a U.S. consular appointment. Given the 65-per-year allocation, appointments fill quickly. Apply for your DS-160 and gather documents several weeks before your start date.

Find Program Coordinator JobsProgram Coordinator TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Program Coordinator qualify as a TN visa occupation?
Program Coordinator isn't listed by name in the USMCA's TN occupation schedule, so approval depends on how your duties align with a listed category. Roles tied to social services may qualify under Social Worker, while others fit Scientific Technician or another technical category. The match between your degree, your job duties, and a recognized TN classification determines whether CBP approves your application.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Program Coordinator positions?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start the process as soon as you have a job offer. H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery in March with an October start date at the earliest. For Program Coordinator roles where TN classification fits, TN is a faster and more predictable path. Mexicans face a 65-per-year consular limit, but even that is less restrictive than H-1B's lottery system.
Can I find Program Coordinator jobs that already sponsor TN visas?
Yes. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Program Coordinator openings at employers with recent visa filings, so you're not spending time on applications where HR will decline at the offer stage. Filtering by employers experienced with visa sponsorship significantly shortens your job search.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must prepare a support letter on company letterhead that states the TN category being claimed, a description of your specific duties, your professional credentials, your citizenship, and the anticipated duration of employment. For Canadian citizens presenting at a port of entry, this letter and your credential documents are the primary filing materials. Weak or vague letters are the most common reason CBP officers request additional evidence or deny entry.
How long does TN visa approval take for Program Coordinator roles?
Canadian citizens applying at a U.S. land border or pre-clearance location typically receive a decision the same day, often within a few hours. Airport ports of entry also decide on the spot in most cases. Mexican citizens must attend a consular interview and can expect visa issuance within a few business days after the appointment, assuming no administrative processing. Neither pathway involves a multi-month USCIS adjudication queue.
