Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Project Director
Align your credentials to the right TN category
Project Director roles don't have a single TN category. Engineering-focused project directors need a degree in engineering; strategy-focused roles often file under Management Consultant. Confirm your degree field matches before targeting employers.
Target employers with recent visa filings
Search Migrate Mate for employers with recent visa filings in your target industry. Employers already experienced with work visa sponsorship are far more likely to be receptive when you discuss TN eligibility in interviews.
Request a project-scoped job description from your offer
CBP officers scrutinize Project Director titles closely. Ask your future employer to frame the offer letter around deliverable-based project outcomes and discipline-specific oversight, not generic management language that could apply to any business role.
Use Migrate Mate to identify TN-ready employers
Migrate Mate filters Project Director openings by employers with documented TN and H-1B sponsorship history, cutting out the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with USMCA professional categories.
Prepare credential documentation before your first interview
Have your degree transcripts, professional licenses, and any relevant certifications evaluated and ready before offers come in. Canadian applicants presenting at the border need complete documentation on the day of entry; delays cost you the start date.

Find Project Director JobsProject Director TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Project Director role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
It depends on how the role is scoped and your degree field. Project Director positions can qualify under the Engineer category if you have an engineering degree and the role involves engineering project oversight, or under Management Consultant if the work involves organizational analysis and recommendations. CBP makes the final determination at entry, so the job description and your credentials must clearly align with the category your employer selects.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Project Director roles?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start work as soon as CBP approves your entry. H-1B requires surviving a randomized lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate before any processing begins. For Project Directors with a qualifying degree, TN offers a direct, predictable path that H-1B cannot guarantee. Mexican citizens face a 5,500 annual TN allocation, but approval rates remain high compared to H-1B lottery odds.
Where can I find Project Director jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles at employers experienced with visa sponsorship. Searching there surfaces Project Director openings at employers with recent visa filings, which is a strong signal they understand work visa processes and won't treat sponsorship as a negotiation obstacle.
Can a Mexican citizen get TN sponsorship for a Project Director position?
Yes, but the process differs from Canadian applicants. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than presenting at the border, and the annual TN allocation for Mexican nationals is 5,500. Applications are processed by USCIS rather than CBP, which means longer timelines. Starting the process well before your intended start date is essential, especially if the role has a fixed launch date.
What happens if my Project Director duties expand after I enter on TN status?
Your TN approval covers the specific role and employer described in your application. If your responsibilities shift materially, your employer needs to file an amended TN petition with USCIS or you must re-enter at the border under an updated application. Working outside the approved scope creates status risk, so flag role changes to your employer's HR or legal team promptly rather than waiting until your renewal.
