TN Visa RN Home Health Jobs
RN Home Health roles qualify for TN visa sponsorship under the USMCA treaty, which lists Registered Nurses as an eligible profession. Canadian citizens can apply at the border with an employer offer letter. Mexican citizens need consular processing. Agencies and home health networks that regularly hire traveling RNs are your most practical sponsorship targets.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship in RN Home Health
Verify your credentials meet U.S. licensing requirements
TN visa status requires you to hold or be eligible for a U.S. RN license in the state where you'll work. Secure your state license before approaching employers, because home health agencies won't initiate sponsorship without proof of active licensure.
Target home health networks with multi-state operations
Large home health networks that operate across multiple states file TN letters regularly and already understand the documentation requirements. Smaller independent agencies often confuse TN with H-1B visa and stall on paperwork, so prioritize employers with established multi-state compliance teams.
Get your offer letter to reflect TN-required language
Your employer's offer letter must specify your professional title as Registered Nurse, the prearranged nature of the position, and your credentials. CBP officers review this at the border for Canadians, so vague language about duties or degree requirements is a common reason for TN denials.
Confirm the agency files E-Verify before accepting an offer
Home health agencies serving Medicare or Medicaid patients are typically required by federal contracts to use E-Verify. Confirm enrollment before signing, because agencies not enrolled may face compliance issues that could affect your ability to work legally in the United States.
Search for TN-sponsoring home health employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter RN Home Health openings by employers with recent visa filings. This cuts the time you'd otherwise spend cold-contacting agencies that have no experience with work visa sponsorship or supporting Mexican nationals through consular processing.
Prepare for Mexican consular processing timelines before job searching
Mexican nationals cannot self-petition at the border like Canadians. You'll apply at a U.S. consulate, which adds scheduling lead time. Start your job search at least eight to twelve weeks before your intended start date to account for appointment availability and document preparation.
RN Home Health TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an RN Home Health role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Registered Nurse is an explicitly listed profession in the USMCA TN occupation categories. Your job title must appear on the offer letter as Registered Nurse, and you must hold or be eligible for a valid RN license in the state where you'll provide care. Home health is an accepted practice setting for TN RNs.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for RN Home Health positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be processed at the border the same day for Canadian citizens. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a lottery system with only a 25 to 30 percent selection chance. For RNs, TN is the faster and more predictable path as long as your employer is willing to provide the required offer letter.
What documents does my home health employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must issue a detailed offer letter confirming your role as a Registered Nurse, the prearranged nature of the employment, your anticipated start date, and your educational credentials. For Canadian citizens, this letter is presented at the port of entry. Mexican nationals also need this letter but submit it as part of the consular visa application packet.
Can I find RN Home Health jobs with TN sponsorship through Migrate Mate?
Yes. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for RN Home Health openings from employers with recent visa filings, which saves you from applying to agencies that have never sponsored work visas before. You can filter by visa type and role to target employers already familiar with sponsoring international healthcare professionals.
Can Mexican RNs apply for TN status the same way as Canadian RNs?
No. Canadian RNs can present their offer letter and credentials at a U.S. port of entry and receive TN status the same day if approved. Mexican nationals must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico before traveling, which involves scheduling an interview appointment and waiting for visa issuance, typically adding several weeks to the process.
