Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Contract Manager
Frame your credentials around USMCA categories
Senior Contract Manager roles most commonly qualify under Management Consultant for TN purposes. Gather a degree in business, law, or a related field and prepare a credential evaluation if your degree is from a non-U.S. institution before approaching employers.
Target employers with active federal contracting programs
Companies holding federal or state government contracts routinely hire contract managers and already understand TN visa documentation. Filtering your search to defense, infrastructure, and healthcare procurement firms shortens the sponsorship education gap considerably.
Search for TN-ready roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces Senior Contract Manager positions from employers with TN visa sponsorship history. Use it to prioritize companies that have already filed TN documentation so you spend less time vetting willingness and more time interviewing.
Negotiate the support letter into your offer stage
TN applications require an employer support letter describing your role, your qualifications, and how the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Request this letter in writing during offer negotiation, before you give notice to your current employer, so nothing stalls at the border.
Understand the port-of-entry option as a Canadian citizen
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a U.S. port of entry without pre-approval, which means your start date can be much faster than H-1B timelines. Bring your support letter, degree documents, and job offer confirmation to the port for inspection.
Prepare for Mexican TN applicants to use consular processing
Mexican citizens apply for TN status through a U.S. consulate rather than at the border. Schedule your DS-160, book your consular appointment early, and confirm with your employer that the support letter matches the role description you submitted exactly.

Find Senior Contract Manager JobsSenior Contract Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Contract Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, Senior Contract Manager positions typically qualify under the USMCA's Management Consultant category, provided the role requires specialized knowledge and a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. The employer's support letter must clearly articulate that your duties involve advising on contract strategy, risk, and compliance rather than general administrative management. CBP officers make the final determination at entry or during consular review.
How does TN visa sponsorship for this role compare to H-1B?
TN visa sponsorship for Senior Contract Managers is significantly faster and simpler than H-1B. There's no annual lottery, no USCIS petition required for Canadian citizens, and Canadians can receive TN status at the border in a single day. H-1B selection is random and capped at 85,000 annually, meaning many qualified candidates are never selected. TN renewals are also straightforward as long as you maintain the qualifying employment.
What documents does your employer need to prepare for your TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead stating your job title, a description of duties that aligns with the Management Consultant category, your anticipated start date, and confirmation that you hold a qualifying degree. The letter isn't submitted to USCIS in advance for Canadians but is presented directly to CBP at the port of entry. Errors or vague role descriptions are the most common reason for border delays.
How do you find Senior Contract Manager jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to help Canadian and Mexican professionals find roles with TN visa sponsorship. Rather than manually contacting employers about visa willingness, you can filter directly for Senior Contract Manager positions from companies that already support TN documentation, which cuts the discovery process and gets you to qualified interviews faster.
Can you switch employers on a TN visa as a Senior Contract Manager?
Yes, but you must obtain new TN authorization tied to the new employer before starting work there. Your TN status is employer-specific, so you can't simply transfer it. Canadian citizens can handle this at a port of entry with the new employer's support letter. Mexican citizens need a new consular appointment. There's no formal grace period for TN holders between employers, so timing the transition carefully with your new offer is essential.
