Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Product Design
Frame your portfolio around specialty occupation
TN eligibility for Senior Product Design hinges on the role meeting specialty occupation criteria. Structure your portfolio to show systems-level design work and degree-to-role alignment, not just visual output. Officers weigh whether the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field.
Verify your degree maps to the offered role
A degree in graphic design won't support a TN application for a role titled computer systems analyst. Confirm your credential aligns with the specific SOC code your employer uses when drafting the job offer letter, since mismatches are a leading cause of TN denials.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Prioritize companies experienced with visa sponsorship. Employers already familiar with work visa processes and support letter requirements move faster and make fewer paperwork errors that delay your start date or trigger additional scrutiny at the port of entry.
Get the job offer letter right before traveling
Canadian citizens present their TN application directly at a port of entry, so a deficient offer letter can result in same-day denial with no immediate appeal. The letter must specify the professional category, your duties, your degree, and the employment period explicitly.
Search TN-specific listings using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Product Design roles by employers with recent visa filings. This cuts out the manual research of contacting companies that don't sponsor work visas, letting you focus your outreach on employers already experienced with the sponsorship process.
Prepare for category ambiguity before your employer files
Senior Product Design roles don't map to a single TN category. Work with your employer's HR team to determine whether the position qualifies under engineer, computer systems analyst, or another listed category before you apply at the port of entry or consulate, since choosing the wrong category could delay your admission.

Find Senior Product Design JobsSenior Product Design TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Senior Product Design qualify as a TN visa occupation?
It depends on how the role is scoped and titled. Senior Product Design roles that involve systems-level UX architecture or human-computer interaction research can qualify under computer systems analyst or engineer categories. Roles focused primarily on visual or graphic output are harder to support. The job offer letter and your degree must both align with the claimed TN category, and the officer at the port of entry or consulate makes the final call.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Senior Product Design roles?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can apply any time a qualifying job offer exists. H-1B requires a lottery registration in March with work authorization starting October 1 at the earliest, meaning a gap of six months or more even if selected. For Mexican citizens, TN has a 5,500-person annual cap, which makes timing more relevant, but it still avoids the H-1B lottery entirely.
Can I use Migrate Mate to find Senior Product Design jobs with TN sponsorship?
Yes. Migrate Mate is designed specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search Senior Product Design listings filtered by employers with recent visa filings, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that don't have experience sponsoring work visas.
What documents do I need for a TN application as a Senior Product Designer?
You need a job offer letter from the U.S. employer that specifies your professional category, job duties, required degree, and employment period. You also need proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship and your original degree credential or transcripts showing a field relevant to the role. Canadian citizens present these at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican citizens apply at a U.S. consulate and need a valid DS-160 and visa appointment.
What happens if my TN application is denied at the border?
Canadian citizens denied at a port of entry are typically allowed to return to Canada the same day and can reapply with corrected documentation. There's no formal appeal process, so the fix has to address whatever the officer flagged. Common reasons for denial include a mismatch between the degree field and the TN category, a vague job offer letter, or a role that doesn't clearly require a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline.
