Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Security Consultant
Frame your credentials around advisory work
TN approval for Senior Security Consultant roles hinges on demonstrating a consulting function, not just technical execution. Structure your resume and credential documents to emphasize client-facing advisory deliverables, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations rather than hands-on implementation tasks.
Verify your degree field matches the role
USCIS and CBP officers assess whether your bachelor's degree field relates directly to management consulting or information security. A degree in computer science or engineering typically satisfies this; a general business degree may require additional documentation connecting your coursework to security consulting work.
Target employers with dedicated immigration support
Focus your search on consulting firms, professional services companies, and enterprise technology organizations that have processed TN petitions before. These employers understand the documentation requirements and are less likely to withdraw an offer when legal counsel explains the TN filing process.
Get the offer letter language right before filing
Your employer's support letter must specify that you'll perform consulting services for a temporary period, describe the advisory scope, and confirm you won't be permanently replacing a U.S. worker. A vague or operations-focused letter is the most common reason TN applications for consultants are questioned at the border.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify Senior Security Consultant roles at employers actively offering TN visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters opportunities by visa type so you're not wasting applications on companies unfamiliar with the TN category or unwilling to provide the required support letter.
Prepare for Mexican nationals' consular timeline
Mexican citizens must schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy, which adds weeks to the process. Request your employer's support letter and prepare your DS-160 early so you're not delaying a start date while waiting for an appointment slot during peak periods.

Find Senior Security Consultant JobsSenior Security Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Security Consultant role qualify for TN visa status?
Senior Security Consultant positions can qualify under the TN Management Consultant category, but the role must involve advisory and strategic services rather than primarily technical execution. Your job duties need to demonstrate that you're providing expert recommendations to an organization, not functioning as a staff-level security engineer or IT technician. The offer letter and your credentials both factor into this determination.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Senior Security Consultant roles?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadian citizens, and no lengthy USCIS petition process. H-1B selection is random and limited to 85,000 registrations per fiscal year, meaning qualified candidates are frequently shut out entirely. For Canadian professionals, TN is generally faster and more predictable. Mexican nationals face a 5,500-per-year TN allocation but still avoid the H-1B lottery system entirely.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must supply a support letter that specifies your job title, describes your consulting duties, confirms the temporary nature of your engagement, and states that you won't permanently displace a U.S. worker. The letter should also confirm your professional qualifications. Canadian citizens present this letter directly at the port of entry; Mexican nationals submit it as part of their consular application package.
Where can I find Senior Security Consultant jobs offering TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. The platform lists Senior Security Consultant roles at employers who have indicated TN visa sponsorship, so you're applying to companies already open to the process rather than discovering their position after receiving an offer. This saves significant time and avoids late-stage offer withdrawals when an employer learns what TN sponsorship requires.
Can I switch employers on a TN visa if I receive a better offer?
Yes, but TN status is tied to a specific employer and role. You must obtain a new TN authorization before starting with the new company. Canadian citizens can get this processed at the port of entry with a new support letter from the incoming employer. Mexican nationals need to return to a U.S. consulate for a new visa. There is no portability provision like the one available under H-1B through AC21.
