Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager
Frame your credentials around advisory work
TN classification for this role depends on demonstrating consulting-style duties, not just operational management. Gather documentation that shows you analyze sourcing strategies and advise decision-makers, not only execute purchase orders.
Verify your degree field matches sourcing work
CBP officers scrutinize degree relevance for Management Consultant TN applications. A degree in supply chain, business administration, or engineering typically aligns; a degree in an unrelated field requires a detailed explanation letter connecting your credentials to strategic sourcing work.
Target employers with active procurement transformation mandates
Companies undergoing ERP migrations, supplier consolidations, or nearshoring initiatives need strategic sourcing leadership now and are likelier to pursue TN sponsorship quickly. Filter your search by organizations that have publicly announced supply chain restructuring.
Search for TN-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Not every employer advertising this role understands TN eligibility or has sponsored it before. Use Migrate Mate to identify employers already familiar with TN sponsorship so you can focus outreach where an offer is genuinely actionable.
Prepare a precise offer letter before the border or consulate
Your offer letter must specify that the role involves providing management consulting services on sourcing strategy, not just a job title. Vague language like 'manage procurement' has led to CBP refusals; the letter should describe advisory deliverables and who you report findings to.
Understand Mexico's annual TN cap before timing your application
Mexican nationals are subject to a 5,500 annual TN cap. If you're applying later in the fiscal year, confirm allocation availability with your employer's counsel before accepting an offer, since cap exhaustion affects your start date.

Find Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager JobsSenior Strategic Sourcing Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, but the classification depends on your actual duties, not just your title. TN status applies under the Management Consultant category, which requires that your role involves providing advisory or analytical services on sourcing strategy to organizational decision-makers. If your position is primarily operational, purchasing-execution work, CBP may not approve the TN classification.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for this role?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so if you qualify and have an offer, you can start work far faster than the H-1B process allows. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a petition and lottery selection that can take over a year. The tradeoff is that TN is status-based and tied to USMCA eligibility, while H-1B has a broader occupational scope.
Where can I find Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager jobs that already support TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces employers with TN sponsorship experience so you're not cold-educating hiring managers on USMCA eligibility mid-interview. Focusing your applications on employers already familiar with TN sponsorship significantly shortens the path from offer to work authorization.
What documents do I need to bring to the port of entry as a Canadian applicant?
You'll need a valid Canadian passport, a signed offer letter describing your strategic sourcing advisory duties, evidence of your qualifying degree (transcripts or the diploma itself), and any professional credentials relevant to the role. If your degree field is not an obvious match, include a letter from your employer or a credentials evaluator explaining the connection to supply chain consulting work.
Can I change employers while on TN status in a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager role?
Yes, but your TN authorization is employer-specific. You cannot simply transfer it. To work for a new employer, you need a new TN application, either at the border for Canadians or through a consular appointment for Mexican nationals. Coordinate your start date carefully, since you cannot work for the new employer until the new TN is approved.
