Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Solutions Lead
Align your credentials to the right TN category
Solutions Lead roles can qualify under engineer, computer systems analyst, or management consultant categories. Your degree field must match the category your employer selects, so confirm the classification before any offer is finalized.
Build a specialty occupation evidence package
Gather degree transcripts, credential evaluations for non-U.S. degrees, and a detailed letter of support outlining your role's technical scope. Officers assess whether the Solutions Lead position genuinely requires your specific professional background.
Target employers with cross-border project experience
Companies that routinely staff Canadian or Mexican professionals understand TN documentation requirements and move faster through the process. Ask recruiters directly whether their legal team has filed TN petitions for technical leadership roles.
Use Migrate Mate to find Solutions Lead roles at visa-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers with recent visa filings who have experience sponsoring work visas for similar technical and advisory roles, so you spend your time on opportunities where visa sponsorship is an established practice.
Negotiate who prepares the support letter before signing
The employer's support letter is the cornerstone of your TN application. Confirm before accepting an offer that HR or in-house counsel will draft it, and request a review of the job description language to ensure it reflects the qualifying professional category.
Prepare for scope questions at the port of entry
Canadian applicants presenting at the border should be ready to explain the Solutions Lead role in plain terms: what systems or clients you support, why the position requires your degree, and the duration of the assignment.

Find Solutions Lead JobsSolutions Lead TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Solutions Lead role qualify for TN visa status?
It depends on how the role is defined and which TN category your employer selects. Solutions Lead positions can qualify under computer systems analyst, management consultant, or engineer categories if the duties align with the professional definition and you hold a relevant degree. Roles that are primarily sales or account management without a technical or advisory core are less likely to qualify.
How does TN visa sponsorship for Solutions Lead compare to H-1B?
TN is faster and more predictable for Canadian and Mexican citizens. There is no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and approval can happen at the port of entry or through a consulate within weeks. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance and selection in a random lottery. For a Solutions Lead role that clearly fits a qualifying TN category, TN is the more direct path.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead describing the Solutions Lead position, your role's technical or advisory scope, the specific TN category being claimed, your salary, and the duration of employment. You supply your degree credentials and, for non-U.S. degrees, a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency.
Where can I find Solutions Lead jobs that already support TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search for Solutions Lead positions at employers who have an established track record of sponsoring TN professionals, which reduces the time spent educating recruiters about the process or waiting for legal teams unfamiliar with TN requirements.
Can Mexican citizens apply for TN status for a Solutions Lead role the same way Canadians can?
No. Canadian citizens can apply at a U.S. port of entry or pre-clearance location and receive a TN determination on the spot. Mexican citizens must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico and cannot use the port-of-entry process. Processing times at Mexican consulates vary, so you and your employer should account for consular scheduling when planning a start date.
