Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a The Trade Desk
Match your credentials to the TN category
The Trade Desk hires engineers, analysts, and business development professionals. Confirm your degree field maps directly to a listed TN category before applying. A computer science degree supports a Systems Analyst or Computer Engineer TN; a business degree typically does not.
Request a detailed offer letter early
The Trade Desk's offer letter must name your specific TN occupational category and describe duties tied to that category. Vague language like 'technology role' gets challenged at the border. Ask the recruiter to specify your classification before the letter is finalized.
Target teams with active programmatic or data roles
The Trade Desk's core business is programmatic advertising technology. Roles in data science, platform engineering, and trading analytics align most cleanly with TN categories. Focus your applications on these functions rather than generalist or support positions with ambiguous degree requirements.
Prepare for port-of-entry review as a Canadian
Canadian citizens apply for TN status directly at a U.S. land border or pre-clearance airport, not through USCIS. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, and any professional licenses. CBP officers can approve or deny on the spot, so documentation must be complete.
Search verified TN-eligible roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find The Trade Desk job listings filtered for TN visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have confirmed sponsorship willingness, saving you from applying to positions that exclude TN candidates at the offer stage.
Coordinate timing around TN renewal periods
TN status is granted in up to three-year increments with unlimited renewals, but The Trade Desk must file a new petition or you must re-enter before each expiration. Build renewal timelines into your employment conversations so neither side is caught off guard near the end of your status period.

Find The Trade Desk JobsThe Trade Desk TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which The Trade Desk roles qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Roles that align with USMCA-listed occupations qualify. At The Trade Desk, this typically includes software engineers, systems analysts, data scientists, and computer engineers, all of which map to the Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer categories. Marketing or account management roles rarely qualify unless the position explicitly requires a degree in a listed TN field.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for The Trade Desk positions?
The TN visa has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be obtained the same day at a port of entry. H-1B requires an employer to enter the lottery in March, and selection is not guaranteed. For Canadians targeting The Trade Desk, TN is faster and more predictable. Mexican nationals face a 5,500 annual TN allocation, which adds some uncertainty but still avoids the H-1B lottery.
Does The Trade Desk sponsor TN visas for Mexican professionals?
Yes, Mexican nationals can receive TN status for qualifying roles, though the process differs from Canadian applicants. Mexicans must apply through a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at the border. The annual allocation for Mexican TN workers is 5,500, so timing and documentation quality both matter. The occupation and degree requirements are identical to those for Canadians.
How do I find The Trade Desk jobs that explicitly support TN visa sponsorship?
Many job listings do not specify TN eligibility even when the employer is open to it. Migrate Mate filters roles by confirmed sponsorship type, including TN, so you can identify The Trade Desk openings where sponsorship has been verified rather than assumed. This reduces the risk of advancing through interviews only to be told TN is not supported.
Can I switch from an existing TN visa to a new one if I change roles at The Trade Desk?
A TN visa is tied to a specific employer and job description. If your role at The Trade Desk changes significantly in title, duties, or occupational category, you need a new TN approval. Canadian citizens can re-enter at the border with an updated offer letter. Mexican nationals must return to a U.S. consulate. Either way, the change should be documented before you begin the new role.
