Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Transportation Manager
Frame your role as specialty management
TN eligibility turns on whether your Transportation Manager duties are managerial and analytical, not operational. Document oversight of carriers, budgets, and routing strategy explicitly in your job offer letter to satisfy the Management Consultant classification.
Get a detailed employer support letter
Your employer's support letter must describe your specific transportation management responsibilities, your bachelor's degree field, and the business need for your role. Vague letters citing only your job title are a common reason CBP officers push back at the port of entry.
Target logistics companies with cross-border operations
Employers already moving freight across the U.S.-Canada or U.S.-Mexico border are familiar with USMCA and more likely to understand TN sponsorship. Focus your search on third-party logistics providers, freight brokers, and manufacturers with binational supply chains.
Search TN-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Transportation Manager roles at employers with verified TN visa sponsorship history. Filtering by sponsorship type saves time and connects you directly with hiring managers who already understand the process.
Clarify Mexican nationals need consular appointments
Unlike Canadians who can seek TN status at a port of entry, Mexican nationals must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate. Build that consular appointment timeline into your start date negotiation so your employer sets a realistic onboarding schedule.
Align your degree field with the role description
USCIS and CBP look for a direct connection between your degree discipline and your management duties. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or industrial engineering strengthens your TN case more than a general business credential for this specific role.

Find Transportation Manager JobsTransportation Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Transportation Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Transportation Manager is not a standalone listed TN category, but many holders qualify under the Management Consultant classification. Your duties must be primarily analytical and managerial, covering areas like carrier strategy, supply chain oversight, or logistics planning. Operational roles focused on dispatching or route execution are less likely to qualify. Your employer's support letter documenting your strategic responsibilities is critical to a successful TN application.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Transportation Manager positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and can be approved at a port of entry the same day for Canadian citizens. H-1B requires entering an annual lottery with roughly a 25 percent selection rate and takes months to process. For Canadian and Mexican Transportation Managers, TN is a faster and more predictable path as long as your role meets the specialty occupation definition under the Management Consultant category.
What documents does my employer need to provide for my TN application?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter that describes your Transportation Manager role in detail, confirms you will be paid at least the prevailing wage, states your anticipated length of employment, and explains why your degree qualifies you for the position. The letter is not a USCIS form but it carries the most weight at the port of entry or consulate. Supporting documentation like your degree certificate and transcripts rounds out the package.
Where can I find Transportation Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, which means you end up cold-applying and educating employers about TN from scratch. Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN and other work visa holders, letting you search Transportation Manager roles at employers who already support TN sponsorship. That filters out companies that won't engage and saves weeks of outreach to dead ends.
Can a Mexican Transportation Manager enter the U.S. while the TN application is pending?
No. Mexican nationals cannot use a port-of-entry process for TN status the way Canadian citizens can. A Mexican Transportation Manager must obtain a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate in Mexico before traveling to work in the United States. Plan for consular appointment availability and processing time, which can run several weeks, when negotiating your start date with a prospective employer.
