Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Delivery Lead
Frame your credentials around TN-qualifying categories
Technical Delivery Lead roles can qualify under Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer classifications, but your degree and job offer letter must align with the chosen category. A mismatch between your title and credentials is a common CBP rejection trigger.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Employers experienced with visa sponsorship understand what documentation CBP requires in a support letter and offer letter. Ask recruiters directly whether the company has processed work visas for similar technical roles in the last two years.
Get your offer letter scoped before you sign
The offer letter is the core of your TN petition. It must describe your duties in terms of a qualifying occupation, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship, and the temporary nature of the role. A vague or HR-generic letter creates unnecessary CBP scrutiny.
Use Migrate Mate to find roles built for TN sponsorship
Search Migrate Mate to identify Technical Delivery Lead positions where employers are already set up to sponsor TN visas, so you're not explaining the visa category from scratch to every recruiter you contact.
Prepare for CBP questions on delivery methodology
Canadian professionals entering at a port of entry should expect CBP officers to probe the technical scope of the role. Be ready to explain what systems or projects you'll manage and how your degree directly supports that work, not just your job title.
Confirm E-Verify status before your start date
TN visa holders are authorized to work in the U.S., but some employers run E-Verify and require I-9 documentation at onboarding. Confirm the employer's E-Verify enrollment status early so there are no delays between your approval and your first day.

Find Technical Delivery Lead JobsTechnical Delivery Lead TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Technical Delivery Lead role qualify for a TN visa?
It can, but qualification depends on how the role is defined in your offer letter and whether your degree aligns with a recognized TN category such as Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer. If the role is scoped primarily around project management without a strong technical systems component, CBP may challenge the classification. Your offer letter and credentials must consistently support the same occupational category.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Technical Delivery Lead positions?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so approval is not subject to random selection the way H-1B is. For Mexican citizens, there is a 5,500-person annual allocation, but demand rarely exhausts it. TN status is also renewed indefinitely in three-year increments, making it a practical long-term option for Technical Delivery Leads who do not need a direct path to permanent residence.
Where can I find Technical Delivery Lead jobs that already support TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Technical Delivery Lead roles specifically filtered for TN visa sponsorship, so you can identify employers who are already familiar with the process rather than educating hiring teams about TN requirements from scratch. This saves significant time during the offer and onboarding stages.
Can a Mexican citizen apply for a TN visa at the U.S.-Canada border?
No. Mexican TN applicants must apply at a U.S. consulate in Mexico rather than at a land port of entry or pre-clearance facility. The consular process requires submitting a DS-160, attending a visa interview, and providing supporting documentation including the employer offer letter and proof of Mexican citizenship. Processing timelines vary by consulate location and appointment availability.
What happens to my TN status if my employer changes the scope of my Technical Delivery Lead role?
A material change in your job duties, such as shifting from a technical systems focus to a general management or business operations role, can affect your TN classification. USCIS and CBP assess TN eligibility based on the role as described at the time of approval. If the scope changes significantly, your employer should file an amended TN petition before the new responsibilities begin.
