Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Supply Chain Director
Frame your credentials around USMCA categories
TN approval for Supply Chain Directors often hinges on how your role maps to a recognized USMCA category. Document that your position requires a bachelor's degree in a qualifying field like business, engineering, or logistics, not just years of experience.
Target employers with cross-border supply chains
U.S. manufacturers, retailers, and distributors with Canadian or Mexican operations are accustomed to TN sponsorship and understand the documentation process. Their legal teams have handled TN filings before, which shortens the offer-to-start timeline significantly.
Search TN-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Supply Chain Director listings by employers with active TN visa sponsorship history. This cuts out roles where you'd have to educate the hiring team about TN eligibility from scratch.
Prepare a role-specific support letter before interviews
Ask your prospective employer to draft a support letter that ties your director-level duties, like vendor negotiations and logistics oversight, directly to a USMCA professional category. Generic offer letters are the most common reason TN applications stall at the border.
Clarify your status at the port of entry for Canadians
Canadian citizens don't file with USCIS for TN status. You apply directly at a land border crossing or airport port of entry with your offer letter, credentials, and the CBP Form I-94. Arriving prepared cuts same-day processing to under two hours in most cases.
Align your renewal timeline with contract milestones
TN status is granted in three-year increments with no cap on renewals. If your employer uses project-based contracts, structure your renewal to coincide with contract extensions so both documents reflect the same employment end date.

Find Supply Chain Director JobsSupply Chain Director TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Supply Chain Director role qualify for TN visa status?
It depends on how the role is defined. Supply Chain Directors typically qualify under the Management Consultant or Engineer category in the USMCA professional list, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like business, industrial engineering, or logistics. Roles focused primarily on operational execution rather than strategic direction carry higher classification risk and may face CBP scrutiny.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Supply Chain Director positions?
TN has no lottery, no annual cap for Canadian citizens, and can be obtained at the port of entry the same day you present your documents. H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a lottery that runs once a year and can take six months or more to begin work authorization. For Supply Chain Directors with a qualifying USMCA category, TN is faster and more predictable than the H-1B route.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, duties, required qualifications, salary, and expected duration of employment. The letter should explicitly connect your Supply Chain Director responsibilities to a recognized USMCA professional category. Vague or generic offer letters are the most frequent reason CBP officers request additional documentation or defer a decision.
Where can I find Supply Chain Director jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Supply Chain Director roles filtered specifically by TN visa sponsorship, so you're only seeing employers already set up to hire Canadian and Mexican professionals. This avoids spending time on applications where you'd have to introduce the TN process to a hiring team that has never used it before.
Can Mexican citizens apply for TN status the same way Canadians can?
No. Canadian citizens apply directly at a U.S. port of entry with their documents and receive a decision the same day. Mexican citizens must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, which requires scheduling an interview in advance. Mexico also has an annual TN allocation cap, though it has not been reached in recent years, so processing timelines are the main practical difference.
