Department: Sports Medicine
Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option
Summary:
Provides direct patient care, in a medical/physician office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, plans, implements and coordinates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines and serves as a liaison to coordinate patient care.
- Assists the physician and advanced practice provider in the prescribed plan of care. Measures, applies and adjusts casts, splints, braces and ambulatory assistive devices.
- Provides clinical education and expert guidance to patients and families as it pertains to procedures and plan of care.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Continuing education in the field.
- Certification by The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (NATA-BOC).
- Licensure with the State of Colorado (DORA) as an Athletic Trainer (LAT).
- 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care. Experience working in conjunction with orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
