Entry Level Triage Nurse Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level triage nurse job?
Entry level triage nurse employers typically look for a current RN license, basic life support certification, and hands-on clinical experience from nursing school rotations or internships. Highlighting any emergency department or urgent care exposure gives candidates a clear edge. Tailoring your resume to show patient assessment skills and comfort working under pressure helps you stand out at this stage, even without years of post-graduation experience.
Which companies hire entry level triage nurses?
Companies hiring entry level triage nurses right now include Sanford Health, Atrium Health, and Duly Health and Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital systems, urgent care networks, and community health clinics that run structured new-graduate onboarding programs.
Are there remote entry level triage nurse jobs?
Yes, though most triage nurse roles at the entry level are on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 24% of entry level triage nurse openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote positions typically found in telephone triage or telehealth settings that accept newer nurses with strong assessment skills.
Are these new grad triage nurse jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior triage nurse roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts clinical rotations or internships toward the requirement, or explicitly invites applications from newly licensed RNs. Seeing language like 'new graduates encouraged to apply' or 'will train the right candidate' is a strong signal the role is open to candidates just starting out.
Which industries hire the most entry level triage nurses?
Entry level triage nurse roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Non-Profit & Social Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because they rely on high patient volume and often have formal residency or new-graduate transition programs that bring in nurses who are licensed but still building clinical experience.
