To keep us headed in the right direction, we’re looking for people who understand winning is a team sport, who value and seek to learn from our team’s diverse experiences and backgrounds, who welcome a challenge and take risks in the pursuit of creating better outcomes for our customers, and who can, at any given time, step back to laugh and have some fun.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a strong understanding of our users’ experience through our suite of products and explore the needs and motivations of our target users.
- Partner with stakeholders in identifying, constructing, and testing information architecture.
- Bring product ideas to life with quick, well-reasoned wireframes, mockups, and coded prototypes.

- Articulate storytelling, the why behind your design decisions.
- Collaborate with the product and development teams as they implement the design into released product features.
- Promote product consistency across the platform.
- Employ usage analytics from our product to generate data to track and measure the success of our solutions.
We’re Excited to Learn More About You
Your experience may include:
- 5+ years of experience in UX, preferably in a commercial software environment working on B2B enterprise software or SaaS products.
- Well-versed in experimental design, research methodology, and statistical analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with research methodologies such as user observation, user interview, usability testing, card sorts, persona development, user journeys and surveys.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret research data and turn it into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills that promote idea-sharing and knowledge transfer.
- Proficient in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Balsamiq, Miro, whiteboards, etc.)
You may have other skills or credentials, including:
- Insurance industry or Insurance technology experience
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques – e.g., AI, Machine Learning, etc.
We know that talent comes from all backgrounds and experience levels. We encourage military members and their spouses as well as candidates without a degree or a background in tech to apply!

Tips for Your UI UX Designer Job Search
Tailor your portfolio to the role
Hiring managers for ui ux designer roles want case studies, not just polished screens. Show your process from research and wireframes through iteration and final decisions. Paste-in mockups with no context get skipped in the first review pass.
Match your resume to the job description
Pull exact tool names and skill phrases from each posting and mirror them in your resume. Many teams filter applications by keyword before a human reads them, so a generic resume misses roles you are fully qualified for.
Filter for design maturity before you apply
Check whether a posting asks for a design system, a research practice, or both. Companies with no existing system often want a builder, not a contributor. Knowing which you are saves you from mismatched interviews that waste weeks.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists ui ux designer openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a design critique for interviews
Many ui ux designer interview loops include a live critique of an existing product. Practice walking through a real app you use, naming what works, what creates friction, and what you would change and why, without waiting to be prompted.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate pay
Before your final offer conversation, ask whether the role owns research, whether you will have a researcher partner, and how design decisions get made. Scope misalignment causes more early exits than compensation does.
UI UX Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most ui ux designers?
The companies hiring the most ui ux designers right now include Amazon, Affirm, and Google, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Washington, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is especially concentrated at tech platforms, healthcare systems, and financial services companies building or scaling digital products.
How many ui ux designer jobs are remote?
About 40% of ui ux designer openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more location-flexible roles in design. Fully remote openings skew toward product design and design systems work, while roles with a research or in-person workshop component are more likely to require on-site presence at least part of the time.
How do you become a ui ux designer?
Start by learning foundational design principles and tools like Figma through courses, self-study, or a bootcamp. Build a portfolio of case studies that show your process from problem definition through testing and final design. Seek feedback on your work, take on freelance or volunteer projects to add real examples, and apply to junior or associate-level roles once your portfolio demonstrates end-to-end thinking.
Can you get a ui ux designer job with little or no experience?
Yes, you can get hired as a ui ux designer without prior professional experience if your portfolio demonstrates clear thinking and process. Redesign existing products, contribute to open-source projects, or complete a capstone through a structured program to build case studies. Junior roles often care more about how you solve problems and communicate decisions than how many years you have worked.
What does the ui ux designer interview process look like?
Most ui ux designer interview processes include a portfolio review call, a take-home design challenge or case study presentation, a design critique of an existing product, and a cross-functional panel with product and engineering partners. Some companies combine stages, but expect to walk through your decision-making out loud at least once. The loop typically takes two to four weeks from first contact to offer.
Where can I find and apply to ui ux designer jobs?
You can find and apply to ui ux designer jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each opening that fits. No detours, no redirects, just the roles and a straightforward application path.
