Vice President Of Finance Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vice president of finance in Vermont?
Most vice presidents of finance in Vermont reach the role through a combination of a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, a CPA license issued by the Vermont Secretary of State's Office through the Vermont Board of Public Accountancy, and progressively senior roles such as controller or finance director. An MBA from an institution like the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business strengthens candidacy. Experience within Vermont's healthcare, manufacturing, or financial services sectors is a common differentiator at the VP level.
Which companies hire vice president of finances in Vermont?
Companies currently hiring vice president of finances in Vermont include Ryder System, Mountain Views Supervisory Union, and Mamava, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's VP of finance openings are most active in healthcare systems, regional banks, and specialty manufacturers with headquarters or major operations in the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most vice president of finance jobs?
The Vermont cities with the most vice president of finance openings are Montpelier, Woodstock, and Vermont. Burlington drives the largest share of demand as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, home to UVM Health Network and a cluster of financial services and technology companies, while Montpelier concentrates government-adjacent and insurance-sector finance roles and Rutland anchors manufacturing and regional healthcare opportunities.
Are there remote vice president of finance jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 22% of vice president of finance openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how extensively strategic finance work can be done off-site. The aspects most suited to remote arrangements are financial modeling, reporting, and board preparation, while treasury operations and audit oversight often still require an on-site presence at least part of the week.
How can I get hired as a vice president of finance in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to build toward the VP level through a controller or senior financial analyst role at a Vermont-based employer such as a regional hospital system, a community bank, or a mid-size manufacturer. Earning a CPA through the Vermont Board of Public Accountancy signals readiness for senior responsibility. National Life Group and UVM Health Network both advance internal finance talent, so joining in a manager-level role with a clear growth trajectory is a practical way to enter the VP pipeline without pre-existing VP experience.
Where can I find and apply to vice president of finance jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to vice president of finance jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to identify roles that match your background in industry, company size, and scope of responsibility, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
