Which companies sponsor visas for C.N.A.s in Alaska?
Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, and various long-term care facilities operated by Banner Health and regional Native health organizations have histories of sponsoring foreign national healthcare workers. Skilled nursing facilities and assisted living centers in rural communities also pursue sponsorship when local recruitment efforts fall short.
Which visa types are most common for C.N.A. roles in Alaska?
The H-1B is generally not applicable to C.N.A. roles because the position typically does not require a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty field. Most sponsored C.N.A.s in Alaska pursue EB-3 immigrant visa pathways, which cover skilled and unskilled workers. Some employers also use the H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker visa for shorter-term staffing needs, though EB-3 is the more common long-term route.
Which cities in Alaska have the most C.N.A. sponsorship jobs?
Anchorage accounts for the largest share of C.N.A. job opportunities in Alaska given its concentration of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and skilled nursing facilities. Fairbanks and Juneau also have active healthcare hiring markets. Beyond these urban centers, rural communities served by tribal health organizations, including those on the Kenai Peninsula and in the Mat-Su Valley, periodically sponsor C.N.A.s to address critical gaps.
How to find c.n.a. visa sponsorship jobs in Alaska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify C.N.A. openings in Alaska where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. Because many Alaska healthcare facilities post sponsorship openings outside mainstream channels, using a dedicated tool like Migrate Mate helps surface roles that would otherwise be easy to miss. Filtering by state and role type keeps results relevant to your search.
Are there any Alaska-specific considerations for C.N.A. sponsorship candidates?
Alaska requires C.N.A.s to hold active certification through the Alaska Nurse Aide Registry, so international candidates should confirm their home-country credentials can be evaluated for equivalency before applying. Alaska's high cost of living, particularly in Anchorage and remote communities, is a common discussion point in job negotiations. Some tribal health employers operate under Indian Health Service guidelines, which can affect hiring timelines and credentialing requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored c.n.a. jobs in Alaska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
