ROLE DESCRIPTION
Loss Prevention provides a safe shopping experience and working environment for all patrons and employees of Three Bears Alaska, Inc. Aiding in the removal of suspected and confirmed persons of interest from the sales floor and any other property owned or occupied by Three Bears Alaska, Inc. Informs management of suspicious situations within a given store and/or company wide. Ability to deescalate incidents when found necessary in order to maintain a safe and customer-friendly shopping/working environment. In addition to providing support and/or instruction and direction during emergency situations that warrant evacuation or quarantined areas.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Loss Prevention staff will be present on the sales floor during assigned duty hours
- LP staff will identify, stop, and detain thieves to the best of their ability
- LP staff will establish trust with Three Bears Alaska, Inc. Store Management through a consistent presence in the stores, adhering to schedules, and maintaining contact with the Management teams
- Assist in assuring work place safety protocols are being adhered to at all times to include but not limited to forklift safety, clear and obstruction free emergency exit access, entry and sales floor hazard removal
- Occasionally check receipts on a random or situational basis to aid in loss prevention
- Monitor and act on reports of suspicious behavior in accordance with LP protocol as set forth by Three Bears Alaska, Inc.
- Conduct frequent store walks in order to gain or maintain visual confirmation of suspected persons of interest
- LP staff will maintain their personal conduct at the most professional level possible at all times
- Will use good judgment when deciding when to/not to approach a suspected person of interest
- Works with Store Management to identify high risk areas and times for each store
- Communicates frequently with Loss Prevention Director
- Provide pictures of suspects with a detailed account of events to the Loss Prevention Director after the incident has been resolved
- Ensure staff member can move from store to store throughout the day when/if called upon by Loss Prevention Director
- Capable of working independently and with other LP staff
- Capable of standing/walking for a minimum 8 hour
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
A High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Prior experience in military, security, loss prevention or related field preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 20 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
