Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties

- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs, including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, memory care, behavioral health challenges, and developmental disabilities.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques during wound care or other sterile procedures.
- Monitor patient conditions closely in various environments like ICU, emergency departments, pediatric units (PICU), or post-acute care settings.
- Support patient safety by adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare team members to develop and implement personalized care plans for inpatient, outpatient, or home-based care.
- Use EMR/EHR systems effectively to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients of all ages while respecting their dignity and cultural preferences.
- Assist with transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs in compliance with safety protocols.
- Participate in infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and proper sanitation procedures.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and families on post-care instructions for medication management or home care routines.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Nursing Assistant in diverse settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation.
- Experience with specialized patient populations including geriatrics (long-term care), pediatrics (including PICU), behavioral health patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures safely and accurately when required.
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for hospital medicine or surgical units.
- Skilled in using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts for patient transfers safely and comfortably.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations confidently in environments like ICU or urgent care settings.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of all patient information at all times.
- Experience providing dementia or Alzheimer’s care with patience and empathy in memory or behavioral health units.
