Which companies sponsor visas for construction project managers in Arizona?
Large general contractors and construction management firms with a significant Arizona presence are the most active sponsors. Companies like McCarthy Building Companies, Hensel Phelps, DPR Construction, Sundt Construction, and Mortenson have hired construction project managers in Arizona and have prior records of H-1B visa sponsorship. Multinational engineering firms with Arizona offices, such as AECOM and Jacobs, also sponsor project management roles periodically.
Which visa types are most common for construction project manager roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for construction project managers in Arizona. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation when a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is required. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose qualifications and job duties meet the relevant professional category requirements.
Which cities in Arizona have the most construction project manager sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix and its surrounding metro cities, including Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Chandler, account for the large majority of construction project manager openings in Arizona. Significant semiconductor and data center construction activity in the East Valley has increased demand. Tucson is a secondary market with activity tied to University of Arizona campus projects, defense-related construction, and regional infrastructure work.
How to find construction project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter construction project manager jobs by state, including Arizona. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with verified sponsorship histories. Setting up alerts for Arizona construction project manager roles helps you respond quickly when positions from active sponsors are posted.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for construction project managers in Arizona?
Arizona's construction boom, driven by TSMC's semiconductor campus in north Phoenix, large data center developments, and sustained residential and commercial growth, has created sustained demand for experienced project managers. Employers filing H-1B petitions for these roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Phoenix or Tucson metropolitan areas, which are determined by job level and location. Candidates with a licensed Project Management Professional credential and relevant large-project experience are more competitive with sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction project manager jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
