Which companies sponsor visas for tax consultants in Arizona?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, have Phoenix offices with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for tax consultant roles. Regional firms such as CliftonLarsonAllen and RSM also operate in Arizona and have sponsored international tax professionals. Corporate tax departments at larger Arizona-headquartered companies in financial services, healthcare, and real estate are additional sources of sponsorship, though their track records vary.
Which visa types are most common for tax consultant roles in Arizona?
The H-1B is the most common visa for tax consultants in Arizona, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN status using the accountant category. L-1 transfers apply when moving within a multinational firm that already employs you outside the United States.
Which cities in Arizona have the most tax consultant sponsorship jobs?
Phoenix accounts for the large majority of tax consultant sponsorship activity in Arizona, driven by its concentration of Big Four offices, regional accounting firms, and corporate headquarters. Scottsdale has a notable presence of financial services firms that employ tax professionals. Tucson is a secondary market with fewer sponsoring employers but some activity tied to the University of Arizona's business community and regional accounting practices.
How to find tax consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Arizona?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship, making it practical to search for tax consultant positions in Arizona without sorting through employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform surfaces openings from firms with active sponsorship histories. Narrowing your search to Phoenix and Scottsdale on Migrate Mate will return the highest concentration of relevant Arizona tax consultant opportunities.
Are there any Arizona-specific considerations for tax consultants seeking visa sponsorship?
Arizona follows federal prevailing wage requirements for H-1B sponsorship, so employers must pay tax consultants at wage levels set by the Department of Labor for the Phoenix or Tucson metro areas. Arizona State University and the University of Arizona produce accounting graduates who sometimes transition from OPT to employer-sponsored status, so firms with campus recruitment programs in Tempe or Tucson are accustomed to navigating early-career sponsorship. CPA licensure requirements in Arizona are separate from visa status but often expected by larger firms.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax consultant jobs in Arizona?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
