ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What You’ll Do:
- Lead key aspects of the month-end and year-end close process
- Manage and mentor a small accounting team (2–3 team members)
- Oversee reconciliation of high-volume Shopify and ecommerce transactions
- Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Support accounting operations across both DTC and retail sales channels
- Manage sales tax and indirect tax processes and compliance
- Develop and improve accounting policies, controls, and operational procedures
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and leadership teams
- Support external audits and financial reporting requirements
- Drive process improvements and help scale the accounting infrastructure as the business grows
- Assist with systems optimization and automation initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within ecommerce, consumer products, or high-growth companies
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience reconciling Shopify or other high-volume ecommerce transactional data
- Familiarity with inventory and retail accounting environments
- Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Process-oriented mindset with a passion for building scalable systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
