Smaller firms tied to the Northwest Arkansas startup ecosystem occasionally sponsor international candidates for senior business development positions.
Which visa types are most common for business development leader roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development leaders in Arkansas, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related field, qualifying them as specialty occupations. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may pursue TN visas under the management consultant category. Senior candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for the O-1 visa.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most business development leader sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville and Fayetteville in Northwest Arkansas account for the largest share of business development leader sponsorships, driven by Walmart's headquarters and its dense supplier and technology partner ecosystem. U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
