Which companies sponsor visas for business development leaders in Oklahoma?
Energy companies are the strongest source of sponsorship for business development leaders in Oklahoma. Devon Energy, Williams Companies, ONEOK, and Chesapeake Energy have active BD hiring and documented H-1B visa sponsorship history. Outside energy, Boeing's Tulsa operations, American Airlines' MRO facility, and healthcare systems like INTEGRIS and SSM Health also sponsor senior business development roles when the right candidate is identified.
Which visa types are most common for business development leader roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development leaders in Oklahoma, classifying the role as a specialty occupation typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, or a related field. Candidates with multinational employer relationships may qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa. Individuals with exceptional records in BD, such as managing large revenue portfolios or industry recognition, may explore the O-1A.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most business development leader sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of business development leader sponsorship activity in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from its concentration of energy headquarters, government contracting, and healthcare systems. Tulsa's industrial base, including aerospace, manufacturing, and midstream energy, drives demand for BD leadership. Smaller markets like Norman and Stillwater occasionally post roles tied to university-affiliated research or regional healthcare networks.
How to find business development leader visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers and filters business development leader roles in Oklahoma by verified visa sponsorship history. Rather than sorting through general job postings, you can browse Oklahoma-specific BD positions where employers have demonstrated willingness to sponsor. Filtering by industry, such as energy or aerospace, helps narrow results to the sectors most active in sponsorship within the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for business development leaders seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily tied to energy cycles, which affects hiring volume for senior BD roles. During periods of strong oil and gas prices, Devon Energy, Williams, and ONEOK tend to expand their business development teams, including sponsored hires. The state has no dedicated technology hub comparable to Austin or Denver, so candidates outside energy should focus applications on healthcare systems, aerospace contractors, and logistics companies with established sponsorship programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development leader jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
