Which companies sponsor visas for business development leaders in Massachusetts?
Life sciences companies including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Moderna, and Biogen, along with software firms like HubSpot, Klaviyo, and Veeva Systems, have active histories of H-1B sponsorship for business development roles in Massachusetts. Large financial and professional services firms headquartered in Boston, such as Fidelity Investments and State Street, also sponsor internationally for senior business development positions. Sponsorship patterns are verifiable through DOL LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for business development leader roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development leaders in Massachusetts, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher, such as in business administration, finance, or a technical field tied to the employer's industry. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement in their field. Australians may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible for TN status under the USMCA.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most business development leader sponsorship jobs?
Boston is the primary hub, with concentrations in the Seaport District, Back Bay, and Kendall Square-adjacent offices. Cambridge is a secondary center driven by its biotech and medtech cluster, with companies regularly hiring senior business development talent internationally. Waltham and Lexington along Route 128 also have significant sponsorship activity, particularly from life sciences and defense technology employers with large commercial teams.
How to find business development leader visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search business development leader roles in Massachusetts without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates, so listings are curated for relevance. Filtering by state and role type on Migrate Mate surfaces employers actively hiring business development leaders with H-1B or other visa support in the Massachusetts market.
What should international candidates know about pursuing business development leader roles in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers sponsoring business development leaders must demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning the position typically requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline rather than any general field. In a competitive biotech and SaaS hiring market, candidates with measurable pipeline or partnership experience in the employer's specific sector tend to receive sponsorship consideration more readily. Prevailing wage requirements are tied to the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan area, which reflects the region's high cost of living.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development leader jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
