Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for business development leaders?
Intel, Nike, Adidas, and Daimler Trucks North America are among Oregon's larger employers with established visa sponsorship programs for senior business development roles. Portland's tech sector, including companies like Puppet and Vacasa, has also sponsored international talent at the leadership level. Sponsorship decisions depend on the specific role, internal HR capacity, and whether the position meets specialty occupation requirements.
Which visa types are most common for business development leader roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for business development leaders in Oregon, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or a related discipline. The L-1A intracompany transferee visa is another viable path for leaders moving within a multinational organization. Australians may also qualify for the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Oregon have the most business development leader sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of business development leader sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech companies, global apparel brands, and professional services firms. Beaverton, home to Nike's world headquarters, is a secondary hub. Salem and Eugene have a smaller share of sponsorship-eligible roles, typically tied to healthcare systems, universities, or regional manufacturing companies.
How to find business development leader visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that indicate visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify business development leader openings in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface relevant opportunities at Oregon employers across Portland, Beaverton, and beyond. Migrate Mate is purpose-built for international job seekers navigating sponsorship requirements.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for business development leaders seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are benchmarked to Portland-area market rates, which tend to be competitive given the region's tech concentration. Business development leader roles must clearly demonstrate specialty occupation status, meaning a direct connection between the required degree and the job duties is essential. Oregon's strong ties to semiconductor manufacturing, through Intel's Hillsboro campus, also create sponsorship pathways in industrial business development that are relatively unique to this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development leader jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
