Which companies sponsor visas for social workers in Arkansas?
Arkansas Children's Hospital, Baptist Health, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) are among the larger employers that have sponsored work visas for social work roles. State agencies such as the Arkansas Department of Human Services also hire licensed social workers, though sponsorship at public agencies varies by position, funding source, and whether a qualified U.S. applicant pool exists.
Which visa types are most common for social work roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for licensed clinical social workers in Arkansas, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation standard when a master's degree in social work is required. The O-1 applies in rare cases involving nationally recognized expertise. Some positions at nonprofit or government-affiliated organizations may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filings, which bypass the annual lottery.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most social work sponsorship jobs?
Little Rock concentrates the most social work sponsorship opportunities, driven by UAMS, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and state government agencies headquartered there. Fayetteville and Springdale in Northwest Arkansas have growing demand through healthcare systems and community mental health providers. Fort Smith also has consistent openings, particularly in child welfare and behavioral health settings tied to regional hospital networks.
How to find social work visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it possible to search social work roles in Arkansas without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, role type, and visa category to focus on clinical, child welfare, or behavioral health positions where sponsorship has been offered. This saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered postings.
Are there any Arkansas-specific considerations for social workers seeking visa sponsorship?
Arkansas requires a state-issued license to practice as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and employers typically expect candidates to hold or be eligible for licensure before sponsoring. International graduates should verify that their degree program meets Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board standards, as educational equivalency can affect both licensure eligibility and the employer's willingness to initiate sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social work jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
