Which companies sponsor visas for software developers in Arkansas?
Walmart Global Tech in Bentonville is the largest software developer employer in Arkansas and has an established history of H-1B visa sponsorship. Dillard's Technology division in Little Rock also sponsors developers regularly. Beyond retail tech, companies in logistics, healthcare IT, and financial services operating across the state have filed LCAs for software developer roles, though sponsorship activity is more concentrated in the Fortune 500 presence anchored in northwest Arkansas.
Which visa types are most common for software developer roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software developer roles in Arkansas, as software development qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may pursue the TN visa under the USMCA, which covers computer systems analysts and related roles. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa. L-1 visa transfers are also used by multinational employers with Arkansas offices.
How to find software developer visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can search for software developer roles in Arkansas without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces roles from employers who have actively sponsored work visas, which is particularly useful for identifying which Bentonville and Little Rock employers are currently hiring internationally. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to general job browsing.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most software developer sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville and the broader northwest Arkansas corridor lead the state for software developer sponsorship, driven largely by Walmart Global Tech and its ecosystem of tech vendors and suppliers. Little Rock follows as the state capital and home to Dillard's Technology and several healthcare IT employers. Fayetteville also generates developer roles tied to the University of Arkansas research environment and regional tech startups, making it worth including in any Arkansas job search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software developers seeking visa sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of federal visa sponsorship rules, but the prevailing wage your employer must pay is calculated based on the specific metro area, so a role in Bentonville is benchmarked against the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers wage data rather than a national figure. The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville produces a notable volume of international STEM graduates, which means northwest Arkansas employers are more accustomed to navigating H-1B sponsorship than employers in smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software developer jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
