KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent physicians, hospitals, and other covered healthcare entities in medical malpractice litigation as lead trial and arbitration counsel.
- Manage all aspects of case preparation, litigation, trial, and arbitration.
- Develop effective discovery and investigation strategies.
- Prepare pleadings, respond to discovery requests, and handle court appearances.
- Collaborate with claims specialists to develop defense strategies and ensure cost-effective case management.
- Provide timely case updates and status reports to clients and claims representatives throughout the litigation process.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate legal staff involved in research, investigation, and trial preparation.
- Ensure compliance with established defense attorney guidelines.
- Maintain strong client relationships, address concerns professionally, and consistently deliver excellent client service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Active license to practice law in California.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical malpractice defense or civil litigation.
- Demonstrated courtroom advocacy skills and experience handling trials and arbitrations.
- Strong leadership, case management, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively leading and mentoring legal teams.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging, high-pressure situations professionally.
COMPENSATION AND WORK ARRANGEMENT
- Annual salary: depending on experience.
