INTRODUCTION
NVIDIA’s DGX Cloud team helps some of the most advanced AI builders in the world move from idea to production faster. This Customer Success Manager role sits close to internal customers and acts as a strategic partner across onboarding, adoption, workload performance, and long-term platform success. The work is part customer success, part technical consulting, and part operational problem-solving, making it a strong fit for candidates who enjoy translating complex infrastructure into practical outcomes.
Customer Success Managers are typically most effective when they help customers achieve value quickly, build long-term trust, and bring customer insights back into the business to improve the product experience. This role is especially compelling because it combines customer partnership with cloud architecture, AI infrastructure, and resource planning in an environment where the work directly shapes how NVIDIA teams build and scale.

- Translate workload, business, and technical requirements into scalable recommendations across compute, networking, storage, and cloud environments.
- Turn repeat customer needs into reusable playbooks, tooling, dashboards, and operating patterns that improve adoption and reduce friction.
- Work across Engineering, Product, Operations, and Finance to surface customer insights, influence roadmap decisions, and improve infrastructure planning and GPU resource efficiency.
- Guide customers through architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cloud portability decisions for AI and machine learning workloads.
- Use data, usage signals, and operational trends to identify risks, spot opportunities, and improve how DGX Cloud supports current and future demand.
- Contribute lightweight automation or code when needed to accelerate delivery and improve day-to-day operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What we need to see:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of experience in customer success, solutions architecture, cloud engineering, technical account management, or a similar customer-facing infrastructure role.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and deployment patterns across public cloud and on-prem environments.
- Experience working with distributed systems, Kubernetes, schedulers, or large-scale platform infrastructure.
- Ability to translate customer goals into technical solutions and influence cross-functional teams through strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience using data, operational signals, or customer feedback to drive decisions, improve adoption, and shape better workflows or product outcomes.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, or shell scripting.
- Track record of operating effectively in fast-moving or ambiguous environments and driving issues through resolution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Experience supporting AI, ML, or HPC workloads in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Background in GPU capacity planning, performance optimization, or infrastructure utilization.
- Experience building automations, internal tools, or agentic workflows that improve customer operations at scale.

Which companies sponsor visas for customer engineers in California?
Enterprise software and cloud companies are among the most active sponsors for customer engineer roles in California. Google, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and Snowflake have consistent records of H-1B visa filings for customer-facing technical positions. Hyperscaler firms in Silicon Valley and SaaS companies headquartered in San Francisco tend to have established immigration support infrastructure, making them more likely to sponsor qualified candidates.
Which visa types are most common for customer engineer roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for customer engineer roles in California, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates already holding L-1B visas through multinational employers may also transition into customer engineer roles. Australian citizens sometimes pursue the E-3 visa, which follows the same specialty occupation standard but has a separate annual cap.
Which cities in California have the most customer engineer sponsorship jobs?
San Francisco and the broader Bay Area account for the largest concentration of customer engineer sponsorship opportunities in California, driven by the density of enterprise SaaS, cloud, and security companies headquartered there. San Jose and Sunnyvale are particularly active given their proximity to major tech campuses. Los Angeles has a growing presence, especially among media technology and e-commerce platforms, while San Diego hosts a cluster of cybersecurity and defense-tech firms.
How to find customer engineer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the United States, including customer engineer positions in California. You can filter by role and state to see companies actively hiring customer engineers who sponsor visas. Because California's tech market moves quickly, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you visibility into new postings from Bay Area and Southern California employers before positions fill.
Are there state-specific considerations for customer engineers pursuing sponsorship in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to H-1B positions statewide, and wages in the Bay Area and Los Angeles metro areas are benchmarked to some of the highest levels in the country given local labor market conditions. California also prohibits non-compete agreements, which can affect how employers structure offers for customer engineers transitioning from other companies. Many sponsors in California are large, well-resourced tech firms with in-house immigration counsel, which can simplify the sponsorship process for candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored customer engineer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
