Which companies sponsor visas for nursing technicians in California?
The largest sponsors of nursing technician roles in California include Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health, Sutter Health, UCSF Medical Center, and Cedars-Sinai. These health systems operate across multiple campuses and file H-1B and EB-3 petitions regularly for clinical support positions. Staffing agencies that place healthcare workers with California hospitals have also filed sponsorship petitions for nursing technician roles.
Which visa types are most common for nursing technician roles in California?
EB-3 is the most common immigrant visa pathway for nursing technicians in California, particularly through employer-sponsored PERM labor certification. Some nursing technician positions may qualify for H-1B sponsorship if the role requires a specialized bachelor's degree, though many technician-level roles are sponsored through EB-3 rather than H-1B. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or other work-authorized status may transition through adjustment of status.
Which cities in California have the most nursing technician sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles has the highest concentration of nursing technician sponsorship jobs in California, supported by large health systems including Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Health, and USC Keck Medicine. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area offer significant opportunities through UCSF and Stanford Health Care. San Diego, Sacramento, and Fresno also have active hiring from regional hospital networks and community health centers.
How to find nursing technician visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters nursing technician jobs in California specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse verified opportunities without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. California's health systems post sponsorship-eligible positions across Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego on a rolling basis. Searching by city or health system on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to the regions and employers most relevant to your qualifications.
Are there any California-specific considerations for nursing technicians seeking visa sponsorship?
California has some of the most stringent nurse-to-patient staffing ratios in the country, which increases demand for nursing technicians across hospital settings and creates more sponsorship opportunities relative to other states. California's Department of Public Health also requires specific certifications for certain technician roles, so confirming your credentials meet state requirements before applying is important. Public university health systems such as UC San Diego Health and UCSF are among the more active EB-3 sponsors in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing technician jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
