Aerospace and defense firms such as Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin, concentrated in Southern California, also sponsor senior project managers with relevant technical backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for senior project management roles in California?

Candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for an O-1 visa. Intracompany transferees moving from an overseas office to a California location may be eligible for the L-1A, particularly if the role carries managerial responsibilities.
Which cities in California have the most senior project management sponsorship jobs?

How to find senior project management visa sponsorship jobs in California?

Using Migrate Mate lets you focus on companies that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor rather than applying broadly and encountering sponsorship rejections late in the hiring process.
Are there any California-specific considerations for senior project managers pursuing visa sponsorship?
California employers must comply with both federal prevailing wage requirements and the state's strict labor laws, which can affect how sponsoring employers structure roles and employment agreements. The concentration of technology and entertainment industries means senior project managers with PMP certification, Agile or Scrum experience, and cross-functional team leadership are in higher demand here than in many other states, strengthening the case for sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior project management jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
