Which companies sponsor visas for warehouse jobs in California?
Amazon has some of the highest volumes of warehouse-related visa sponsorship filings in California, particularly around its Inland Empire and Southern California fulfillment centers. XPO Logistics, DHL Supply Chain, and Geodis also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for California warehouse roles. Larger third-party logistics providers tend to file more sponsorships than smaller independent warehouse operators.
Which visa types are most common for warehouse roles in California?
H-1B visa sponsorship for warehouse roles is uncommon because most positions don't require a bachelor's degree in a specific specialty field, which is the H-1B's core requirement. EB-3 immigrant visas are more frequently used for skilled and unskilled warehouse workers through the PERM labor certification process. Some roles in logistics management or industrial engineering within warehousing may qualify for H-1B or TN visa depending on the job duties and degree requirements.
Which cities in California have the most warehouse visa sponsorship jobs?
The Inland Empire, covering cities like Ontario, Fontana, and Riverside, is California's largest warehouse and distribution hub due to its proximity to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The greater Los Angeles area and the Central Valley, including Stockton and Tracy, also have significant warehouse employment. These regions consistently generate the highest volume of logistics and fulfillment hiring in the state.
How to find warehouse visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to show roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, saving you from applying to positions unlikely to support international candidates. For warehouse roles in California, you can search by state and filter to logistics, fulfillment, and supply chain categories. Migrate Mate's database focuses on employers who have filed sponsorship petitions, making your search more targeted than general job searches.
Are there any California-specific considerations for warehouse visa sponsorship?
California enforces strict wage and labor regulations that sit above federal minimums, which means prevailing wage calculations for sponsored warehouse workers reflect the state's higher cost-of-living benchmarks. Employers sponsoring workers through PERM in California must comply with both Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements and California's own wage orders. The state's active union presence in logistics, particularly at port-adjacent facilities, can also affect the hiring and sponsorship process at certain employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored warehouse jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
