Which companies sponsor visas for bookkeepers in Colorado?
Accounting and professional services firms are the most active sponsors for bookkeeper roles in Colorado. Large regional employers like Plante Moran, EKS&H, and healthcare organizations such as UCHealth and SCL Health have sponsored accounting-related positions. National staffing and outsourcing firms with Colorado offices also periodically sponsor bookkeeper roles, particularly for candidates with specialized industry experience in real estate, energy, or technology sectors.
Which visa types are most common for bookkeeper roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used visa for bookkeeper positions in Colorado, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting roles. Some employers also sponsor EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for long-term bookkeeping staff with demonstrated expertise.
Which cities in Colorado have the most bookkeeper sponsorship jobs?
Denver has the highest concentration of bookkeeper sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by its large professional services, healthcare, and technology sectors. Boulder follows closely, with demand from university-affiliated organizations and tech startups. Colorado Springs and Fort Collins also have active hiring, particularly within government contractors, defense-related firms, and regional accounting practices that serve growing suburban business communities.
How to find bookkeeper visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find bookkeeper visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado. Search for bookkeeper roles filtered to Colorado, and prioritize employers in Denver or Boulder who have an established track record of filing H-1B or TN visa petitions for accounting positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for bookkeepers seeking visa sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to all H-1B bookkeeper positions, meaning employers must pay at or above the wage level determined for the Denver-Aurora or relevant metropolitan area. Colorado's Certified Public Accountant licensure requirements do not apply to most bookkeeper roles, but candidates with CPA credentials or formal accounting degrees from accredited institutions are significantly more competitive with sponsoring employers in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored bookkeeper jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
