Which companies sponsor visas for business development directors in Colorado?
Colorado's largest visa-sponsoring employers for business development director roles include Lockheed Martin and Raytheon in the aerospace and defense sector, Arrow Electronics and Jabil in technology distribution, and enterprise software companies like Palantir and Ping Identity in Denver and Boulder. Large professional services firms and healthcare technology companies headquartered along the Front Range also have established sponsorship programs for senior commercial roles.
Which visa types are most common for business development director roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for business development directors in Colorado, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in sales leadership or business strategy may also qualify for the O-1A. Senior professionals transferring within a multinational company may be eligible for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa.
Which cities in Colorado have the most business development director sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the majority of business development director sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 regional headquarters, enterprise tech firms, and financial services companies. Boulder adds significant volume through its startup and software ecosystem. Colorado Springs contributes roles in defense and government contracting, particularly around the military installations that anchor that city's commercial sector.
How to find business development director visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter business development director roles by state, so you can browse Colorado-specific opportunities from employers with active sponsorship programs. Because business development director positions are senior roles, filtering for companies with H-1B or L-1 visa filing history in Colorado will help you focus on employers already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for business development director sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives international candidates useful context when evaluating offers relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The DOL prevailing wage for business development director roles in the Denver metro is benchmarked to a senior management occupational category, so employers sponsoring this title must meet a relatively high wage threshold. Colorado's active aerospace, clean energy, and enterprise software sectors all have consistent demand for this seniority level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development director jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
