Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Colorado?
Colorado's largest visa sponsors for project program managers include aerospace and defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, tech companies including Oracle, Palantir, and Google's Boulder office, and large healthcare organizations like UCHealth and SCL Health. Federal contractors operating near Colorado Springs and the Denver metro area also regularly sponsor H-1B visa petitions for experienced program managers overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Which visa types are most common for project program managers in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project program managers in Colorado, as employers must demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, typically supported by a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business. Candidates from certain countries may also be eligible for TN visa (Canadian and Mexican nationals) or E-3 visa (Australian nationals) visas, which bypass the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Colorado have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its surrounding suburbs, particularly the Denver Tech Center corridor, account for the largest share of project program manager sponsorship opportunities in Colorado. Boulder is a secondary hub driven by its concentration of technology and research companies. Colorado Springs adds meaningful volume through defense and government contracting activity, and Fort Collins has a smaller but growing presence tied to Colorado State University's research partnerships and regional tech employers.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for project program manager positions in Colorado without sifting through roles that exclude international candidates. Because Colorado's sponsoring employers are spread across industries, including defense, tech, and healthcare, Migrate Mate's role-specific and location-specific filters help you focus on employers actively hiring in this category rather than applying broadly.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for project program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Colorado's strong aerospace and defense sector means many project program manager roles require security clearances, which can complicate or delay visa sponsorship since clearance eligibility is generally restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Candidates targeting defense contractors should prioritize civilian-facing program management roles or employers with dedicated international hiring programs. Colorado's tech sector, particularly in Boulder and the Denver Tech Center, tends to have fewer clearance requirements and more active H-1B sponsorship histories.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
