Which companies sponsor visas for tax managers in Colorado?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, have Colorado offices and established visa sponsorship programs for tax managers. Large Colorado-headquartered corporations such as Ball Corporation, Newmont Mining, and DaVita also sponsor H-1B and TN visas for senior tax roles. Regional accounting firms occasionally sponsor as well, though less frequently than the major national employers.
Which visa types are most common for tax manager roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for tax managers in Colorado, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the accountant category. Australian citizens can explore the E-3 visa. L-1 transfers are another avenue for managers moving from a foreign affiliated office.
Which cities in Colorado have the most tax manager sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the large majority of tax manager sponsorship activity in Colorado, particularly in the Denver Tech Center and downtown financial district. Boulder sees demand tied to its technology and startup sector, where companies often need in-house tax expertise. Colorado Springs has a smaller but present market, primarily driven by defense contractors and regional corporate offices that occasionally sponsor experienced tax professionals.
How to find tax manager visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to find tax manager roles in Colorado without sorting through positions that do not sponsor. You can search by location and role to surface employers actively hiring and willing to file petitions. This is especially useful for narrowing down which Colorado employers, from Denver's Big Four offices to regional corporate tax departments, are currently recruiting.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for tax managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Colorado follows federal prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program, so employers must pay the Department of Labor's determined wage for the Denver or Boulder metropolitan areas, which reflects local market rates. Colorado's energy sector, including oil, gas, and mining companies headquartered in Denver, creates specialized demand for tax managers with international tax or natural resources experience, which can strengthen a sponsorship case for candidates with those backgrounds.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax manager jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
