Search Care Assistant Jobs in DelawareCare Assistant Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Delaware?
ChristianaCare is Delaware's largest health system and the most active visa sponsor for care and clinical support roles in the state. Nemours Children's Health, Bayhealth Medical Center, and Beebe Healthcare also appear in sponsorship filings. Staffing agencies that place healthcare workers in Delaware facilities have additionally filed Labor Condition Applications for care assistant positions, broadening the pool of sponsoring employers beyond direct hospital hires.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for care assistant roles that require a qualifying bachelor's degree and meet the specialty occupation standard. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare classifications. Some employers also sponsor permanent residency through EB-3 pathways for qualified care staff. The applicable visa depends on the specific role, required credentials, and the employer's sponsorship capacity.
Which cities in Delaware have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the largest share of care assistant sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by ChristianaCare's flagship hospital campus and the concentration of specialty clinics in the city. Newark, home to additional ChristianaCare facilities and close to the University of Delaware, is another active hiring area. Dover, as the state capital and location of Bayhealth Kent Campus, also generates consistent demand for care assistants seeking employer sponsorship.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters care assistant roles in Delaware by visa sponsorship status, saving time compared to sifting through listings that don't confirm sponsorship. You can search by role and state to surface positions at Delaware health systems and care facilities that have an active history of sponsoring work visas. Creating a profile also helps match you to new Delaware care assistant openings as they are posted.
Are there any Delaware-specific considerations for care assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Delaware's small geographic size means most sponsored care assistant roles are concentrated within a short corridor running from Wilmington to Dover, so proximity to those hubs matters when planning a relocation. The state's healthcare sector draws heavily from the University of Delaware and Delaware State University graduate pipelines, meaning employers are accustomed to working with candidates on OPT and CPT transitions. Care assistants with CNA credentials or clinical certifications recognized in Delaware tend to attract sponsorship interest more readily than uncredentialed applicants.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
