Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Indiana?
The largest sponsors of care assistant roles in Indiana include Indiana University Health, Ascension St. Vincent, Franciscan Health, Eskenazi Health, and Community Health Network. Many of these systems operate multiple facilities across the state and have established HR processes for international hires. Long-term care operators and home health agencies also sponsor, though typically at smaller volumes than the major hospital networks.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Indiana?
The H-1B visa is rarely used for care assistant roles because most positions do not meet the specialty occupation requirement of a specific bachelor's degree. Instead, employers more commonly pursue EB-3 immigrant visas for qualified international workers, particularly through staffing agencies with established immigration programs. Some facilities also hire on TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare classifications.
Which cities in Indiana have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of care assistant sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of hospital systems and long-term care facilities. Fort Wayne and South Bend also have meaningful demand, particularly through Parkview Health and Beacon Health System respectively. Smaller cities like Bloomington and Muncie see consistent hiring tied to regional medical centers and university-affiliated care programs.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find care assistant roles in Indiana where employers are actively open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsorship-eligible positions, saving time that would otherwise go toward screening out roles that don't apply to international candidates. Filtering by Indiana and the care assistant role category surfaces relevant openings across Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and other hiring markets in the state.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for care assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Indiana's Department of Health sets certification requirements for certain care assistant roles, particularly certified nursing assistants working in licensed facilities, which can affect how employers structure sponsorship. Indiana participates in the nurse licensure compact, which matters more for RNs, but care assistants should verify state certification requirements early in the process. Employers in rural Indiana sometimes work with immigration-focused staffing agencies to fill persistent shortages in underserved areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
