Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Ohio?
The largest sponsoring employers for care assistant roles in Ohio include Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, MetroHealth, UC Health, and Summa Health. Long-term care networks and senior living operators such as Trilogy Health Services also hire internationally for direct care positions. Sponsorship is more common at large hospital systems and multi-facility operators than at smaller independent care facilities.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is less common for care assistants since most roles do not meet the specialty occupation threshold. The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most widely used pathway, allowing employers to sponsor workers through the PERM labor certification process. Some facilities also use the H-2B for temporary or seasonal care positions, though EB-3 remains the standard route for permanent roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati account for the largest share of care assistant sponsorship activity in Ohio. Columbus has a growing senior care sector tied to its expanding population. Cleveland's concentration of major health systems, including Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals, generates consistent demand. Cincinnati benefits from UC Health and a network of long-term care facilities on both sides of the Ohio-Kentucky border.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search care assistant roles in Ohio without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings from health systems, home care agencies, and long-term care operators across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, helping international applicants identify employers who have a documented history of sponsoring care workers.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for care assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio requires care assistants working in licensed facilities to complete state-approved nurse aide training and pass the competency evaluation before working independently. International applicants should confirm their training credentials meet Ohio Department of Health requirements. The EB-3 PERM process also requires employers to demonstrate they cannot fill the role locally, so facilities in rural Ohio or underserved urban areas often have stronger recruitment justifications for international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
