Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Texas?
Large healthcare systems are the most active sponsors for care assistant roles in Texas. HCA Healthcare, CHRISTUS Health, Baylor Scott & White, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Memorial Hermann have all filed for work visas on behalf of care staff. Nursing homes and home health agencies also sponsor, though at lower volumes. Larger systems tend to have dedicated HR immigration teams, which can make the process more straightforward.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Texas?
The H-1B is less common for care assistants because many entry-level roles don't meet the specialty occupation requirement. Instead, employers often use the H-2B for temporary non-agricultural workers or the EB-3 immigrant visa for permanent roles, particularly for certified nursing assistants and home health aides. Internationally trained nurses moving into care assistant roles sometimes enter on TN visas if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated job board for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and it filters care assistant roles by state, making it straightforward to browse Texas-specific opportunities. Because not all employers advertise sponsorship openly, Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsoring employers, which saves significant time compared to screening general job listings manually. Filtering by Texas and care assistant roles gives you a focused list of active opportunities.
Which cities in Texas have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state in care assistant sponsorship activity, driven by the Texas Medical Center, one of the largest medical complexes in the world. Dallas-Fort Worth is close behind, with major hospital networks and a large senior care sector. San Antonio has strong demand linked to its military veteran population and associated healthcare facilities. Austin is a smaller but growing market as the city's population ages and healthcare infrastructure expands.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for care assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas does not require a state-level license for basic care assistant roles, but certified nursing assistants must hold a valid CNA certification through the Texas Nurse Aide Registry. Employers filing for work visas must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role in the specific metro area, which is set by the Department of Labor and varies between Houston, Dallas, and smaller markets. International candidates should verify their credentials are recognized before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
