Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Florida?
Large healthcare systems are the most active sponsors for care assistant roles in Florida. HCA Healthcare, BayCare Health System, AdventHealth, and Encompass Health have a documented history of sponsoring foreign national workers. Long-term care and assisted living operators, including Brookdale Senior Living and Sunrise Senior Living, also sponsor at Florida facilities, particularly in high-demand markets like Tampa and Miami.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is less common for care assistants because most entry-level roles do not meet the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. The EB-3 immigrant visa is a more frequently used pathway, allowing employers to sponsor care assistants for permanent residence through PERM labor certification. Some facilities also use the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare roles.
Which cities in Florida have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Orlando consistently see the highest volume of care assistant hiring in Florida, driven by large hospital networks and a significant senior population. Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale also have active markets, with AdventHealth and HCA operating multiple facilities in those metros. Smaller markets like Sarasota and Naples show demand tied specifically to retirement community growth.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to show care assistant roles in Florida where employers are open to visa sponsorship, saving you the time of sifting through postings that exclude international candidates. You can search by city, facility type, or visa category. Given that EB-3 sponsorship timelines can be long, finding employers with established immigration processes early is worth prioritizing.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for care assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida's large retiree population means demand for care assistants is concentrated in assisted living and memory care settings, not just hospitals. The state licenses care assistants through the Florida Department of Health, and some employers require a Florida Certified Nursing Assistant credential before initiating sponsorship. Facilities in South Florida also serve large Spanish-speaking communities, so bilingual candidates may find more sponsorship opportunities there.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
