Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Georgia?
Wellstar Health System, Piedmont Healthcare, Emory Healthcare, and large long-term care operators such as PruittHealth and Encompass Health have histories of sponsoring international workers in care roles across Georgia. Smaller home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities in metro Atlanta and Augusta also periodically sponsor care assistants, though sponsorship availability varies by facility, staffing needs, and budget cycle.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Georgia?
The H-1B visa is less common for care assistant roles because most positions do not meet the specialty occupation threshold. Employers in Georgia more frequently use the EB-3 immigrant visa pathway for care assistants, which requires PERM labor certification. Some facilities also hire through the H-2B visa temporary visa for non-agricultural workers. International nurses or allied health professionals may qualify for different categories depending on their specific credentials and job duties.
Which cities in Georgia have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta has the highest concentration of care assistant sponsorship opportunities in Georgia, driven by its large hospital networks and growing senior living facilities in suburbs like Sandy Springs, Roswell, and Marietta. Augusta is a secondary hub with a strong healthcare presence anchored by Augusta University Medical Center. Savannah and Macon also have notable long-term care and assisted living sectors that periodically hire internationally.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to care assistant roles with verified visa sponsorship in Georgia, saving you from sorting through listings that do not offer international hiring. You can browse current openings by city or employer type directly on Migrate Mate. Given that care assistant sponsorship is less common than in clinical nursing roles, checking the platform regularly as new positions post gives you the best chance of finding active opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for care assistants seeking sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia requires care assistants working in certified nursing facilities to complete state-approved training and pass a competency evaluation before working independently. Internationally trained applicants may need to have their credentials reviewed before an employer can begin the sponsorship process. Georgia's Department of Community Health oversees these certifications. Employers sponsoring care assistants through the EB-3 pathway must also comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Atlanta or relevant Georgia metro area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
