Which companies sponsor visas for clinical assistants in Delaware?
ChristianaCare, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the mid-Atlantic region, and Nemours Children's Health are the most prominent Delaware employers with documented visa sponsorship histories for clinical and healthcare support roles. Smaller outpatient clinics and federally qualified health centers in Wilmington have also filed Labor Condition Applications for clinical assistant positions, though sponsorship is less consistent outside major health systems.
Which visa types are most common for clinical assistant roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most commonly used pathway for clinical assistant roles that require a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field, such as clinical or health information management. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical roles. J-1 visas occasionally appear in clinical settings tied to hospital exchange programs, though these are typically for physicians rather than clinical assistants.
Which cities in Delaware have the most clinical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington is Delaware's primary hub for clinical assistant sponsorship activity, home to ChristianaCare's flagship hospital campus and Nemours' regional operations. Newark, which borders the University of Delaware, also sees consistent healthcare hiring and benefits from proximity to a research university pipeline. Dover has a smaller but present clinical job market, primarily through Bayhealth Medical Center, though sponsorship activity there is more limited.
How to find clinical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., with filters for role type and state. Searching for clinical assistant positions in Delaware on Migrate Mate surfaces employers that have demonstrated sponsorship activity, saving significant research time compared to manually reviewing company career pages. Checking listings regularly is worthwhile given Delaware's relatively small but active healthcare hiring cycle.
Are there any state-specific considerations for clinical assistants seeking sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's healthcare sector is heavily consolidated around a few large health systems, which means the sponsorship pool is narrower than in larger states. However, Delaware's location within the Philadelphia metro area means some employers operate across state lines, and an offer from a Pennsylvania or New Jersey affiliate of a Delaware health system may still support your application. The University of Delaware's health sciences programs also create a local graduate pipeline that can inform which employers are accustomed to working with international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical assistant jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
