Which companies sponsor visas for clinical assistants in Tennessee?
The largest sponsors of clinical assistant roles in Tennessee are major health systems with dedicated international hiring pipelines. Vanderbilt University Medical Center, HCA Healthcare (headquartered in Nashville), Saint Thomas Health, and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis are among the most active. Academic medical centers and large hospital networks are generally more equipped to manage the sponsorship process than smaller private clinics.
Which visa types are most common for clinical assistant roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for clinical assistants whose role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as a physician assistant or similarly credentialed clinical role. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying healthcare occupations. Some clinical assistant positions may also be supported through J-1 exchange programs, particularly those affiliated with academic medical centers or residency-adjacent training programs.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most clinical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state by a significant margin, driven by the concentration of large hospital systems, HCA Healthcare's corporate headquarters, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Memphis is the second-largest hub, anchored by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Regional One Health. Knoxville and the Tri-Cities area (Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol) offer additional opportunities through University of Tennessee Medical Center and Ballad Health respectively.
How to find clinical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can browse clinical assistant roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Search by role and state to surface openings at health systems known to sponsor, including those in Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville. Filtering by sponsorship type helps narrow results to H-1B or TN-eligible positions relevant to your background.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical assistants seeking visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee does not impose additional state-level licensing barriers beyond federal visa requirements for most clinical assistant roles, but specific credentials vary by position. Physician assistants must hold NCCPA certification and obtain a Tennessee state license through the Board of Medical Examiners. Tennessee's strong healthcare employer base, combined with lower cost of living compared to coastal markets, makes prevailing wage requirements more accessible for employers initiating H-1B sponsorship in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical assistant jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
