Which technology companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Delaware?
Delaware's largest F-1 STEM OPT sponsors in technology include JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and DuPont, all of which maintain significant technology operations in Wilmington. Capital One and Incyte also have Delaware presences with active LCA filing histories for software and data roles. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data by employer and occupation code gives the most accurate picture of which companies have recently sponsored STEM OPT candidates.
Which cities in Delaware have the most technology F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the overwhelming majority of technology F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by the city's concentration of financial services headquarters, corporate legal entities, and enterprise technology teams. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, has a smaller but growing cluster of technology employers, particularly in biotech and research-adjacent software roles. Dover sees limited sponsorship activity outside state government contractors.
How do I find technology F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate surfaces technology roles in Delaware filtered specifically by employers with verified F-1 STEM OPT LCA filing history, so you can identify companies that have actively sponsored candidates in software engineering, data science, and cybersecurity rather than guessing at willingness. Filtering by Delaware and selecting the Technology and Software category on Migrate Mate narrows results to employers whose sponsorship patterns match STEM OPT authorization windows and extension timelines.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Delaware?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to the student's degree. In Delaware's technology sector, software engineering, data analytics, cybersecurity analysis, systems architecture, and machine learning engineering positions most frequently appear in LCA filings. Roles classified under computer and information science, engineering, or mathematics STEM degree classifications through O*NET are the strongest candidates, provided the employer has an active E-Verify enrollment, which is required for STEM OPT extensions.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Delaware's technology sector?
Delaware's incorporation-friendly legal environment means many companies are registered in the state without physical operations there, so confirming a role's actual work location matters for STEM OPT purposes, since the employer of record must be E-Verify enrolled at the worksite. Delaware has no state income tax on out-of-state wages for non-residents, which affects take-home pay calculations but has no bearing on STEM OPT eligibility itself. USCIS governs all STEM OPT authorization requirements regardless of state.
