Which companies sponsor visas for food service managers in Delaware?
Delaware employers with documented sponsorship history for food service management roles include hospital systems like ChristianaCare, university dining operations at the University of Delaware, and hospitality groups operating in Wilmington and the Dover area. Larger national food service contractors such as Aramark and Sodexo, which hold contracts with Delaware institutions, have also filed sponsorship petitions for management-level roles.
Which visa types are most common for food service manager roles in Delaware?
Food service manager roles in Delaware are most commonly sponsored through the EB-3 employment-based green card category, which covers skilled workers, and the H-1B visa for positions that qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Roles with significant operational and business management components are more likely to meet H-1B specialty occupation standards than frontline supervisory positions.
Which cities in Delaware have the most food service manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington generates the highest concentration of food service manager opportunities in Delaware, driven by its corporate dining, hotel, and healthcare sectors. Newark is a secondary hub given the University of Delaware's dining operations and surrounding restaurant corridor. Dover sees activity tied to state government facilities, Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, and regional healthcare campuses.
How to find food service manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse food service manager roles posted by Delaware employers willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through hundreds of general postings, you can focus on verified sponsorship opportunities in Delaware's hospitality, healthcare dining, and institutional food service sectors directly through Migrate Mate.
Are there state-specific considerations for food service managers seeking visa sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware requires food service managers to comply with state health department food safety regulations, and many employers expect candidates to hold a ServSafe or equivalent certification before starting. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, the employer must file a Labor Condition Application certifying that the offered position meets prevailing wage requirements for the Wilmington or Dover metropolitan areas, which are determined by the Department of Labor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food service manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
