Which companies in Delaware sponsor visas for solution engineers?
Wilmington-area employers in financial technology and enterprise software are the most active sponsors for solution engineer roles in Delaware. Companies like JPMorgan Chase, Incyte, and DuPont have established immigration programs and a track record of H-1B filings. Smaller technology firms and consulting companies operating in Delaware's corporate corridor also sponsor, though their volume varies significantly by hiring cycle and business need.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineers in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Delaware, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates already holding L-1B intracompany transferee status or an O-1A for extraordinary ability may also find pathways through employers with multinational operations, which are well-represented in Delaware's corporate-heavy economy.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters solution engineer roles by state, letting you focus specifically on Delaware employers who are actively open to visa sponsorship rather than sorting through listings that never address it. Because solution engineer positions in Delaware span financial services, life sciences, and enterprise tech, using Migrate Mate's role-specific search helps surface opportunities across those sectors without wading through unrelated postings.
Which cities in Delaware have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the large majority of solution engineer sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its concentration of financial institutions, corporate headquarters, and technology vendors serving those industries. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, has a smaller but growing tech presence. Dover and the southern part of the state see limited sponsorship activity for this role type.
Are there any state-specific considerations for solution engineers pursuing sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's status as a corporate registration hub means many companies are legally incorporated there but operate their technical teams elsewhere, so confirming the actual work location matters when evaluating a sponsorship offer. The University of Delaware and Delaware State University produce engineering graduates who sometimes stay in-state, creating a local talent pipeline that can make sponsorship more competitive at entry level. Mid-level and senior solution engineers with enterprise software or fintech experience tend to see stronger sponsorship interest from Wilmington-based employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
