Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers in financial technology, insurance, and enterprise software are the most active sponsors for solution engineer roles in Nebraska. Companies like First Data (Fiserv), Mutual of Omaha, and Union Pacific have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for technical roles. Smaller SaaS and cloud software firms headquartered in Omaha also sponsor periodically, particularly when hiring for pre-sales or implementation-focused solution engineer positions.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Nebraska, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates already holding L-1B status through intracompany transfers are also placed in solution engineer roles. Those from Australia may consider the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of solution engineer visa sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of financial services, logistics technology, and enterprise software companies. Lincoln has a smaller but active tech hiring market, partly supported by the University of Nebraska's computer science programs. Outside these two cities, solution engineer openings with sponsorship are uncommon given Nebraska's more rural economic profile.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters solution engineer roles in Nebraska by visa sponsorship availability, saving significant time compared to manually screening general job listings. On Migrate Mate, you can filter by state and role type to see which Nebraska employers are actively sponsoring. Given that Omaha's sponsoring employers are a relatively concentrated group, having a targeted list of verified sponsors is especially useful in this market.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for solution engineers seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are determined by the Department of Labor using Omaha and Lincoln metropolitan area data, which generally reflects lower wage levels than coastal tech markets. This means sponsorship can be more accessible for employers from a cost standpoint. Solution engineer roles require demonstrating specialty occupation status, so candidates should ensure their job duties align clearly with a specific technical field rather than generalized sales responsibilities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
